Bi-Annual Cleaning Requirements
Air Duct Cleaning – By law, all London buildings with air conditioning systems must have air duct cleaning carried out once every two years. This is an important health and safety requirement necessary to maintain good air flow and quality and prevent the spread of airborne diseases caused by contaminants in the ventilation system.
Annual Cleaning Requirements
Deep Cleaning - All commercial kitchens require deep cleaning once a year to supplement day to day cleaning. This involves cleaning the ceiling and top of the walls to the point where they meet the worktops, cleaning food preparation tables - cleaning behind them them where needed, stripping back, cleaning and reassembling kitchen equipment such as ovens, fryers and grills and finishing by washing the floor. In some cases, deep cleaning may be required more often than once a year, depending on how often the kitchen is used.
Kitchen Extract Cleaning - Light use kitchens (used 2-6 hours a day) require the kitchen extract system to be cleaned annually. Kitchen extract cleaning removes the build up of grease and grime from canopy, fan and air duct throughout the building. It is an insurance requirement that this is carried out and in the event of a claim, can invalidate your policy if it has not been.
Six Monthly Cleaning Requirements
Kitchen Extract Cleaning - A medium use kitchen (used 6-12 hours a day) will require the kitchen extract system as described above, to be cleaned once every six months.
Three Monthly Cleaning Requirements
Kitchen Extract Cleaning - Heavy use kitchens (used 12-16 hours a day) will require the kitchen extract system to be cleaned once every three months.
One Off Cleans
New businesses or kitchens which have recently been refurbished may require a wipe down after builders have been in.
